Remote Controlling your PC
From BleedingEdgeWiki
Have you ever been out and about and wished you could access a file/program on your PC at home? Or have you been called by someone who needs technical assistance and wish you could be "hands on" at the remote computer to show your friend what to do? These are common examples of when Remote PC Control is very useful and there are many other circumstances where there is great benefit in being able to access and control a PC from somewhere else. There are many possible ways of achieving remote control. Here are two of them.
Microsoft Remote Desktop
Enter the search string Remote Desktop in Help and Support on XP, Vista, Windows 7 for more information on this feature.
Here is a link to Microsoft's description of Remote Desktop on Vista.
Note that Remote Desktop is not available in all versions of Vista. The same is true for XP and Windows 7.
TeamViewer Remote Access and Support
TeamViewer is a commercial remote access and support application that is free for personal use. There are no restrictions on which version of Windows is installed.
