Razor goes live
It's happened - although we're not quite sure how - a day ahead of schedule. as Alister Scott just pointed out [well spotted!] the existence of that new blog we've been working on - Razor - has been announced in the blogs section on the front page of the SMH Online edition. But it's not yet on the front page of The Age.
Let's know what you think of it. Oh, and the first post is hidden, but you can find it here.
It will be interesting to see who makes the first comment.

Hmmm, "computer sociologist", is that a new social grouping? And does this mean we will get less of you here and more of you there? Hope the new venture brings in a shekel or two cw.

Computer sociologist is an old grouping. I've been blathering on about it for 15 years, but NOBODY has yet offered to pay me several thousand dollars to address a conference on my findings. It's a disgrace!
Will you get more of me there and less here? Well, I've been posting there for a couple of weeks now, and I plan to continue the present arrangement.
The major problem is that I still haven't thought of a natural differentation between what I post on Razor and what I post on Bleeding Edge. The most obvious one of course is that, this being a personal site, I can be more overtly political.
Any suggestions, anybody?
I'm getting roughly five times more money for Razor than for Bleeding Edge - that's before the expenses of Bleeding Edge come out - so yes, it's bringing in some money, but the rate per word is tiny. Here's the business plan: I'm hoping that Bleeding Edge will pick up some more traffic from links from Razor, which will allow me to attract some display advertisers, and thus realise the plan to amass wealth beyond one's wildest dreams etc. :-)
